Setting Sail!

In this challenging course you will embark on an extended cruise and cover the following topics: sailing in all types of winds and water conditions, COB procedure at night, spinnaker flying, continuous overnight sailing and “watch” systems.

PREREQUISITE: Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising, VHF Certificate, Sail Canada Intermediate Coastal Navigation. Also recommended First Aid and CPR.

OPTIONS

  1. Seven-to-eight-day continuous live-aboard cruise on the Great Lakes.
  2. Seven days in the Caribbean during the winter months.

FEE: $1,650.00 + HST (Great Lakes option)

OBJECTIVE: To be able to act safely as skipper and crew of a sailboat of 10 – 15 meters in length, with any modern rig and inboard engine, operating within 100 miles offshore by day and night in coastal or inland waters in any weather.

CERTIFICATION AWARDED: Sail Canada Advanced (Skipper) or Sail Canada Advance Cruising (Crew).
